This exciting new course, the first of its kind in the country, has now successfully completed its initial, pilot run and we are proud to announce it will be running again in September 2008.
This NCFE course sets out to provide an introductory step into the professional world of Motor Sport.
The 10 week course provides 60 hours guided learning aiming at increased engagement and participation through a combination of 'hands on' practical experience working alongside professional marshals and scrutineers, with a series of team building excercises and portfolio building.

Students work towards gaining a nationally recognised Level 1 Certificate in Motorsports Scrutineering, they also gain certificates in Fire Awareness Training by Swindon based Fire and Rescue Services and First Aid training from the Red Cross. |
|
At the end of the course the students are given the opportunity to put all they have learnt into practice and organise, run, and of course ride, in their own event. |

In recognition of the excellent achievement by our first group of students, Swindon Speedway again showed their support for this exciting new course and the students were presented with their hard earnt awards in the centre of their Blunsdon speedway track at the Abbey Stadium, mid way during the thrilling Sky Sports Elite League meeting between Swindon Robins and Belle Vue Aces.

Picture: Nicola Codd, NCFE Business Development Manager travelled down specially from Newcastle to join Cory Gathercote, professional speedway rider, and present the awards to the first successful students in the country completing this unique new course.
The lucky students were then treated to an amazing experience of being able to enjoy the remainder of the race from the enviable position of the centre of the track! |
